New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution practice focuses on unlocking growth and operational efficiency for private equity portfolio companies, primarily PE-backed SaaS businesses in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector. The Tech - Private Equity Value Creation team collaborates with CEOs, Boards, Private Equity sponsors, and governments to shape and implement strategic and operational improvements. Your Role As a Director in EY-Parthenon’s Strategy and Execution Tech – Private Equity Value Creation practice, you will lead and execute operational-focused projects, working closely with management teams to identify challenges, develop actionable recommendations, and support implementation. You will also contribute to proposals, client presentations, and building the team’s knowledge base. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end delivery of strategy and execution projects, including scoping, planning, and delivering results in high-pressure environments. Supervise and mentor junior consultants; guide problem-solving efforts and ensure high-quality output. Perform structured analyses to identify root causes, quantify opportunities, and develop data-backed recommendations across go-to-market, pricing, customer success, product, and operations. Build trust with senior stakeholders and present complex insights clearly and persuasively. Translate strategy into implementation roadmaps and partner with clients to realize value, often in hands-on, interim leadership or PMO roles. Play a key role in proposal development, client pitches, and relationships with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies. Contribute to scaling the PEVC team’s knowledge base through IP development, recruiting, and team-building initiatives. Skills and Attributes for Success Strategic Leadership: Ability to guide teams and clients through ambiguity to develop clear, actionable strategies. Comfort in Ambiguity: Ability to bring structure and clarity to evolving situations. Commercial Acumen: Strong business judgment to drive client value. Hands-on Problem Solving: Willingness to dive into data and lead rigorous analysis. Industry Fluency: Familiarity with the TMT landscape and B2B SaaS operating challenges. Team Development: Ability to coach, motivate, and grow junior team members. Adaptability: Thrive in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities. Execution Orientation: Track record of leading initiatives from idea to implementation with measurable impact. Qualifications to qualify for the role Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field with 5 years of related experience; or graduate degree with approximately 3 years of related experience. Experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, or operating roles with exposure to growth, go-to-market, or operational improvement. Experience leading complex workstreams or full projects in a fast-paced client service environment. Deep understanding of financial statements and operational performance metrics. Familiarity with Excel-based modeling, operational diagnostics, and strategic frameworks. Proven ability to build relationships with senior client stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations. Residence in or commuting distance to the office location; willingness to travel and work beyond standard hours as needed. Preferred/Ideally MBA from a top-rated school. Direct experience with private equity sponsors and/or PE-backed portfolio companies. Sector experience in TMT, with emphasis on B2B SaaS. Knowledge of leveraging firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot. What we offer Competitive compensation and benefits; base salary range for this role across locations is $205,000 to $235,000, with a Total Rewards package including medical/dental coverage, pension and 401(k), and paid time off. Hybrid work model with most client-facing roles expected to work in person 40-60% of the time over a project or engagement.
