Overview Traffic Engineer I role at RS&H in the Transportation Practice, Denver, CO.

The Opportunity RS&H is currently seeking a Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Practice in our Denver, CO office. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of traffic engineering fundamentals and be knowledgeable in all aspects of traffic engineering production, able to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to traffic engineering. This position offers a hybrid schedule of in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

Deliver traffic engineering services for CDOT and other local clients.

Perform quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones.

Formulate and solve problems with timely and innovative solutions.

Maintain professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remain knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances pertinent to the discipline.

May provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. May also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements.

Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.

Assist in preparing project specifications and other project documents.

Qualifications

Accredited Bachelor or Master's of Engineering degree or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline.

5+ years’ experience within the field of traffic engineering.

Professional registration (PE) within the field of engineering.

Extensive traffic forecasting, traffic operations analysis, and safety evaluation experience.

Proficient in production and traffic software experience including HCS, Synchro, Vistro and VISSIM.

Experience with ITS Planning and Design, Signal timing and design studies, signal operations, signing and pavement marking, maintenance of traffic (MOT), Lighting related projects.

Experience with TruTraffic and Open Road Designer (ORD), Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.

Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

Familiarity with local, state and national traffic engineering standards and practices.

Prior experience delivering traffic engineering and design projects for CDOT and other local agencies in Colorado is preferred.

Ability to collaborate with others in other states on projects as needed.

Hiring Information Salary range: $97,830 - $119,570 for this location. The final compensation is commensurate with experience and location.
