The Omni San Diego Hotel is seeking an experienced hotel sales professional to join our award-winning sales team. Our hotel is a leader in delivering exceptional meetings, individual guest service, strong financial results and high associate satisfaction scores. If you are a consistent closer who exceeds monthly goals, energetic, motivated, and a team player, you will find a strong environment to succeed. The role includes eligibility for Omni\'s Work From Home Program and related incentives, after 90 days of employment. This role is eligible for Omni\'s Work From Home Program. After 90 days, you may earn up to 2 Work From Home days, with a potential 3rd if you exceed your YTD goal. The program is at the sole discretion of the GM/DOSM and has additional guidelines. Responsibilities
Effectively book groups 10-125 rooms or less on peak night to achieve monthly and annual room nights, average rate, and revenue goals. Aim to achieve established room and food & beverage goals. Model teamwork, assisting other managers to reach their goals and achieve annual team goals. Prospect across all market segments within the assigned geographic territory. Meet sales activity standards (5-10-15) as assigned by the Director of Sales. Prospect from a database of previous groups and lost business. Prospect from assigned AHS reader board leads for new sources of business. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hotel capabilities and amenities (front desk/reservations/room service/catering). Merchandise function space and attain maximum room rental where appropriate. Qualify and respond to leads with customized proposals in a timely manner. Deliver contracts within 24 hours; follow up and process group blocks related to catering events. Refine site inspections and proposals to improve outcomes. Achieve brand referral goals (FLIP) as assigned by the Director of Sales. Explain Select Rewards and utilize SR promotions to close business. Use Delphi to maintain correspondence, current trace dates, and relevant booking activity. Participate in trade organizations and industry activities. Provide the Director of Sales with forecasted personal monthly production. Participate in daily business review and weekly sales & marketing pipeline meetings, and other meetings as assigned. Promote a high-quality company image through professionalism with clients and colleagues. Develop plans and actions for your assistant aligned with their future goals. Determine competitive advantages and disadvantages of the hotel in its marketplace; maintain knowledge of the competitive set. Maintain relationships with GSOs and San Diego Tourism Authority counterparts. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Previous hospitality experience is required. Luxury hotel experience is preferred. 1 year of previous hotel/resort sales experience is preferred, or a minimum of 2 years in a hotel/resort management position. Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office; proficiency in Delphi is preferred. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers in person and by telephone/email. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to address guest needs diplomatically. Ability to assess problems and implement creative, effective solutions. Pay: $75,000 - $85,000 annually. The pay range is provided as a guideline; actual compensation offered may vary based on qualifications and experience.
