Job Summary The Account Executive interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. The Account Executive will prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as renewals of assigned clients with supervision and approval from their Supervisor. In this role, you will act as lead consultant and primary point of contact for assigned clients. The Account Executive will have retention targets and may have revenue goals. You will handle day-to-day account management for a specific set of clients, including substantial verbal, electronic, and other written communications.
This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule from our White Plains, NY office.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Client Management: maintain the client relationship as the point of accountability and participate in the placement process; grow and maintain the client relationship with the producer to expand the client relationship; understand the client, their business, and insurance objectives; ensure complete and accurate information is presented to the marketplace.
Strategic risk management: determine proper coverage given the client’s risk profile and objectives; develop the strategy and resources around retentions, coverages, and new placements; document discussions and decisions.
Placement and servicing: own the engagement cycle, placement process, and client communications (including key meetings such as placement strategy, proposal, and stewardship); provide final review and sign-off on client deliverables; coordinate with claims for regular reviews.
Retention and growth: pursue opportunities to round out existing programs, increase limits, or provide additional resources or capabilities; present annual stewardship reports and insurance summaries; respond to client queries promptly.
Documentation and compliance: perform contract and document reviews as requested; ensure service standards meet or exceed client expectations and protect from E&O.
NFP Team Management
Establishes and leads the team, overseeing all facets of client servicing and the placement process; liaises with internal teams and external partners.
Trains and develops account managers and coordinators; builds relationships with internal colleagues to serve the client effectively.
Ensures the team’s compliance with NFP’s Service Model and policies.
Carrier Relationships and Market Knowledge
Develops and maintains relationships with key trading partners (carriers, wholesalers, etc.); understands carrier appetites and markets risks appropriately.
Stays up to date on market trends, terms and conditions; represents NFP in marketplace engagements.
Placement Process
Manages an assigned book of business; leads the placement process and aligns roles and timelines.
Coordinates with client service teams, Industry/Risk Practices, and broking to align strategy; identifies needs and presents actionable insights.
Negotiates renewal programs and oversees placement of lines of business; prepares premium and coverage comparisons and client-facing proposals; secures client authorization to bind and confirms coverage.
Sales and Other Responsibilities
Partners with Producers during the sales process, including prospect qualification, program reviews, market competition, RFP responses, and BOR issuance; identifies cross-sell opportunities.
Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and carriers; addresses billing and payment issues promptly; escalates issues to senior management when needed.
Issuance of legal documents (NDA, Fee Agreements, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills, And/or Abilities
Excellent written communication; ability to present numeric data clearly and interpret information.
Experience with EPIC or similar agency management systems; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities; capable of working with diverse stakeholders; detail-oriented and adaptable.
