Overview
The Disclosure and Ratings Assistant Vice President (AVP) is part of Citi’s Sustainability & ESG team, which manages environmental, climate change, human rights and other stakeholder and business issues in partnership with Citi's businesses, risk functions and operational teams. The AVP provides broad support to the team’s disclosure program and reports to the Senior Vice President, Sustainability & ESG (Disclosure and Ratings Lead), who reports to the Chief Sustainability Officer. The ideal candidate will be able to apply sustainability and project management experience, technical data analysis and excellent written and verbal communication skills across a range of assignments.
Responsibilities
Ratings and Reporting
Support the Disclosure and Ratings team on regulatory sustainability reporting requirements and strategy at the global and country levels
Support the Firm’s major voluntary sustainability disclosures, including Citi Climate Report, Sustainability Report, and Sustainability sections of the Proxy Statement and Annual Report/10-K with oversight from the Disclosure and Ratings Lead
Support Citi\'s sustainability and climate regulatory reporting efforts
Work with controllership teams to ensure disclosure controls and procedures are adequately performed and tracked
Participate in engagements with business, communications and investor relations teams to collect and incorporate feedback from external stakeholders
Participate in engagements with ESG rating agencies to help optimize Citi’s scoring
Support business units in the completion of ESG-related requests from external parties (e.g., ESG-related client RFPs and due diligence questionnaires)
Conduct sustainability disclosure benchmarking across the financial services industry
Monitor emerging, global sustainability trends and regulations through participation in external fora such as working groups and trade associations, and work with internal stakeholders on initiatives to advance Citi’s disclosures
General
Provide support to the Sustainability & ESG team as needed on Citi’s environmental and social priorities, stakeholder engagement, employee engagement and related projects and initiatives
Undertake research projects and benchmarking analysis as needed on sustainability, sustainable finance and environmental and social-related topics and themes, including facilitating outreach to Citi colleagues to help steward due diligence processes
Qualifications
4-8 years relevant experience in sustainability, finance, investing or markets-related role
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
Experience conducting Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions calculations preferred
Knowledge or familiarity with corporate reporting including key voluntary sustainability and climate frameworks like SASB and TCFD
Knowledge or familiarity with regulatory sustainability reporting frameworks such as CSRD and ISSB
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to create work plans and meet deadlines
Self-starter and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent analytical skills, proficient in Excel and comfortable analyzing large datasets and portraying and explaining complex data trends to others
Expertise in PowerPoint and Word
Strong research and investigative skills, ability to evaluate and assess complex topics, creatively problem-solve
Education
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree related to sustainability, environmental science, business or finance preferred
