Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN (hybrid schedule).

Role summary CHS Inc. has an exciting opportunity to join our Commodity Trading team as a
Durum Wheat Trade Desk Lead . The successful candidate will be able to work with a diverse group of people and build effective long-lasting relationships. The role requires the ability to make decisions, work independently, be detail oriented, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven leadership capability.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the North American and global Durum wheat trading strategy for CHS, including annual business plan, budget, and forecast.
Leverage CHS Durum Wheat franchise to the marketplace.
Develop and implement a growth strategy for Durum wheat in both export and domestic markets that will:
Grow participation of affiliated cooperatives in our overall origination.
Maximize asset capacity utilization and expand origination activity beyond traditional channels and areas.
Expand destination and customer outlets.
Maintain existing customer base and identify, develop and build new opportunities domestically and globally.
Build and implement processes to:
Maximize capacity utilization of export and country assets for all wheat classes in combination with corn and soybean product leads.
Maximize end-to-end margin for Durum Wheat, including the structural margin of CHS export and country assets.
Identify strategic partnerships and commercial alliances opportunities, domestically and internationally.
Provide leadership to JVs and affiliates regarding cash grain positions, business opportunities and grain trade.
Provide leadership in freight positioning and packages for the CHS Inc. enterprise and outside affiliate customers.
Serve as point person to railroads specific to Durum wheat opportunities for the enterprise.
Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.
Minimum qualifications (required)
High School diploma or GED
7+ years of experience in trading/merchandising – preferably in a global sector
Additional qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Ag Economics, or other business-related program
Experience in leading individuals
Working knowledge of NGFA contracts and futures exchange rules
Experience working with international teams
P&L Management experience
Previous global trade experience; commodity markets and trading subject matter expertise
Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal

Physical requirements CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on factors including experience, education, training, skills and local laws.
