Overview

Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Line Lead, Optimus role at Tesla. This position focuses on developing and optimizing manufacturing lines and processes for Optimus and Energy Products at the Fremont factory, from early design through full-scale production. You will work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to shape the future of AI robotics and energy technology. Responsibilities

Develop and validate manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and processes to support early-stage prototype builds. Determine and procure equipment necessary for all manufacturing processes used to build the product. Work with equipment integrators to design and manufacture equipment and fixtures for medium to high-volume production. Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of manufacturing equipment. Perform process analysis, DOE, PFMEA, line balancing activities, and capacity modeling/simulation. Provide DFM (design for manufacturability) input to design team for process and yield improvements. Create detailed manufacturing instructions to train technicians and line operators on new processes and equipment. Qualifications

Solid experience as a hands-on Mechanical/Manufacturing/Design Engineer working on mechanical and/or electromechanical systems. Experience using 2D CAD tools for conceptual line design (AutoCAD) and 3D design for mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling (SolidWorks or CATIA). Experience with conveyance, transducer-based fastening systems (Atlas Copco preferred), robotic systems (Fanuc or Kuka preferred), adhesive dispensing, laser welding or automated functional testing. Experience creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment. Experience providing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Automation (DFA). Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience. Benefits and Compensation

Expected Compensation: $104,000 - $198,000 annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits. Aetna PPO and HSA plans with multiple medical plan options and $0 payroll deduction for some options.
