LaBella is currently hiring a
Senior Structural Engineer
in our Chattanooga, TN office. The Structures Discipline provides structural engineering services with emphasis on new design, repair, rehabilitation of constructed works, and investigation and performance evaluation. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of multi-discipline teams. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with leadership potential.
Duties
Lead or work independently on the production of structural construction documents, including drawings and specifications, for projects ranging from small renovations to large, complex new constructions.
Provide construction phase services such as reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits to observe work for conformance with project requirements.
Perform assessments, forensic analyses, or feasibility studies for existing structures needing improvement, purchase, or repair.
Collaborate with clients to develop cost-effective structural systems, providing concept options and evaluating system pros and cons for informed decision-making.
Coordinate closely with other engineering and architectural disciplines.
Develop efficient structural designs, perform calculations, and coordinate with other disciplines.
Manage project budgets, including hours and resources.
Mentor Structural Designers and Junior Engineers through calculations and document reviews.
Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements
8 to 15 years of experience at a consulting engineering firm.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Valid Tennessee State PE license is required.
Revit experience is preferred.
Experience with computer analysis software and project history is essential.
