Position Overview: Muth Electric is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to join our Strategic Projects Division. This role is ideal for seasoned professionals who are comfortable leading teams in remote jobsite environments for periods ranging from 12 to 40 months. The Superintendent will oversee the safe, timely, and high-quality installation of electrical systems on large commercial and industrial projects. Experience 10+ years in commercial/industrial electrical work 3–5+ years in a Superintendent or leadership role Leadership over projects over $50 Million in Scope Peak Project Level Leadership of over 75-100 Electricians Data Center or 8+ Story Commercial Construction Experience Preferred Must possess a current Journeyman or Master Electrician license Must be eligible for reciprocity in Iowa, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate electricians, apprentices, and laborers on major project sites. Ensure all electrical work meets project plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. Plan, schedule, and assign daily tasks while monitoring quality, productivity, and safety. Conduct jobsite safety briefings and maintain accurate safety documentation. Manage materials, tools, and equipment; coordinate deliveries and returns. Collaborate with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers. Use prefabrication processes to increase productivity and efficiency. Identify and resolve jobsite issues related to design, scheduling, labor, or materials. Lead and mentor team members, fostering skill development and accountability. Track project progress and support cost estimating and productivity analysis. Travel or temporarily relocate to job sites across South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Iowa, Nebraska, and other regions as needed. Essential Competencies Construction Documents: Strong knowledge and ability to read, understand, and navigate one-line diagrams, all project plan sheets including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and special systems, as well as the full specification book. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and installation practices. Leadership: Proven ability to lead crews, delegate tasks, and maintain productivity in high-demand environments. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication with clients, engineers, and internal teams. Problem-Solving: Able to troubleshoot issues quickly and implement practical solutions. Planning & Organization: Skilled at scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management. Safety Focus: Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety protocols and OSHA compliance.
