Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Controls Engineer with 4+ years of experience to take on a key role in the design, programming, and implementation of industrial automation systems. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing control solutions across manufacturing, packaging, and material handling applications. This position is ideal for an engineer ready to take more ownership of projects while continuing to build technical depth. What You’ll Do
Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) Develop intuitive and functional HMI/SCADA interfaces for operator interaction Support system integration, testing, and on-site commissioning Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project teams to ensure systems meet functional and safety requirements Create and maintain documentation including IO lists, logic diagrams, and panel layouts Provide technical support during installations, upgrades, and system debugging Contribute to continuous improvement efforts around standardization, efficiency, and code reuse What You Bring
4+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation or controls engineering Proficiency in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, FBD) Working knowledge of HMI or SCADA platforms (e.g., FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition) Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and system layouts Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset Comfortable with occasional travel for commissioning and site support Nice to Have
Experience with motion control, robotics integration, or servo systems Familiarity with safety system design and industrial standards (NFPA 79, IEC 61131, etc.) Understanding of common industrial protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, etc.) Experience configuring, programming, or maintaining DCS systems (e.g., DeltaV, Honeywell, ABB) Why Join?
