The

Test Engineer

will lead a US based validation testing to align current & upcoming product performance & durability with customer expectations. This position will play a key role in facilitating the validation of vehicles for production readiness, in partnership with the CFMOTO R&D facility in Asia. Responsibilities

Lead the validation testing, reporting, and communication efforts of the US based testing group ensuring alignment with factory testing, engineering, and product departments. Assure the end customer’s voice, expectations, and vehicle usage requirements are understood by the test group. Create and implement a comprehensive set of vehicle testing procedures for evaluation of current and future product performance, ensuring vehicles meet customer requirements in real-world usage and conditions. Develop and maintain a comprehensive field test system of pass/fail and measurable acceptance/rejection criteria for field testing new vehicles or revised current product, including lab testing as needed to quantify results. Manage the validation testing department staff for daily workload, trip planning & logistics, and performance expectations, while growing future internal testing capabilities. Organize field tests and schedule endurance riders workload and deliverables; make travel arrangements for the endurance testing group. Determine testing department facility requirements, deliverables, and budgets and submit for annual management approval. Responsible for interdepartmental communication of test protocols, reporting methods, and final pass/fail results. Work with stakeholders to prioritize execution of the Test Request database for current and future product to R&D and the product team, based on test results. Contribute product performance feedback and analysis to support the Product Manager’s continuous improvement database. Support the NPD team as required for needs in lab or field testing of prototype, pre-production, and competitor vehicles. Provide design and functional feedback throughout projects, to improve direction of the design & engineering team. Enforce a 6S Lean workplace to maintain a clean and organized shop facility, and safety. Coordinate logistics of test units, for storage, riding days and preparation for multiday test trips. Maintain a valid drivers’ license and DOT physical card for operating vehicles over 10k GVWR (CDL preferred, but not required). Operate within standard operating procedures and follow all company health & safety guidelines. Other duties as required. Qualifications

Education & Experience Required Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field Strong technical background with the ability to create, develop, and run complex testing scenarios requested by Product Management or R&D departments. Strong understanding of the typical North American ATV and UTV customer use-case and requirements. Must be able to ride and evaluate off-road vehicles and assess all areas of off-road vehicle performance. 10+ years’ powersports riding experience 5+ years’ previous experience in a similar role within the powersports, automotive or similar industry 3+ years of department leadership experience with strong communication and analytical skills 3+ years of supervisory experience of technical staff in the testing and evaluation of complex machinery Experience with data acquisition equipment in field testing environments, and general lab testing equipment Familiar with ROHVA, SVIA, ANSI, NHTSA, and other standards relating to vehicle safety and certifications, with adherence to relevant requirements. Up to 25% national and international travel required. Wage and benefits: The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of job-related factors in compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, certifications, education, location and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $90k-$110k annually.
