Overview
Senior Civil Rail Engineer - Rail systems, STV. You will be responsible for leading the design of railway infrastructures, ensuring safety regulatory compliance, quality standards, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and report to the Rail Group Supervisor and project-specific PM and Design Manager. Responsibilities
Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and requirements for railway infrastructure projects. Design Development: Develop designs for railway tracks, bridges, tunnels, stations, and associated structures using engineering principles and software tools. Regulatory Compliance: Lead and guide compliance with local, national, and international regulations, codes, and standards related to safety, accessibility, and environmental impact. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and challenges and develop mitigation strategies. Design Support During Construction: Respond to information requests from Prime Contractors during construction, and review/approve shop plans and construction drawings. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement QA/QC procedures to monitor materials, workmanship, and construction processes. Budget and Schedule Management: Assist project managers in monitoring budgets and schedules, tracking expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and schedule optimization. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress, milestones, and issues to clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal team members. Documentation: Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation according to organizational standards and client requirements. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, and incorporate innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a productive work environment. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license required. 13+ years of experience in railway engineering, focusing on design, construction, and maintenance of rail infrastructure. 13+ years of proficiency in engineering software such as MicroStation, InRail, Open Rail, AutoCAD, Civil 3D. Knowledge of railway standards and regulations, including AREMA, CPUC, AAR, and FRA requirements. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and project goals. compensation
Compensation Range: $117,599.07 - $156,798.76 Benefits
