Structural Design Engineer

to join our dynamic team. This role builds upon experience as a Structural Designer II and collaborates with a team of architects, engineers, modelers and detailers to transform design concepts into detailed structural plans, specifications, and formal calculation packages using CAD software and other industry-standard tools. The position emphasizes attention to detail, problem-solving, and a strong understanding of structural engineering principles. Responsibilities

Assist in the production of drawings, specifications, and calculations during a project’s design phase life cycle from conceptual design to completion of construction documents under close supervision and coordination with the Project Manager or Structural Project Engineer. Assist in the completion of construction administration tasks, such as reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and making site visits, under close supervision and coordination with the Project Manager. Assist in the development of structural designs and analytical models for various building types and materials. Review and revise designs based on feedback from senior designers and project stakeholders. Perform calculations and analyses to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and regulations. Basic knowledge of all relevant codes. Utilize CAD software, including Tekla Structures, and other tools to create 2D drawings and 3D models. Collaborate with team members, including engineers, modelers and detailers, to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality design solutions within budget. Participate in internal and external project design meetings to gain practical knowledge and understanding of project requirements. Stay updated with industry trends, code updates, and advancements in structural design techniques and technologies by actively participating in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in structural engineering and project management. Help identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency enhancement within the company. Contribute to a culture of shared leadership and accountability within project teams. Required Skills And Abilities

In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and standards. Familiarity with structural design and analysis, materials, and construction techniques for informed decision-making and regulatory compliance. Ability to identify and analyze problems, propose solutions, and make informed decisions; includes critical thinking and troubleshooting during design and construction. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration within the project team. Ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines. Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in design plans, specifications, and construction documentation. Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including active listening, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Adaptability to changes and the ability to adjust project plans as needed. Proficiency in CAD software and other structural engineering tools; willingness to stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes. Education And Experience

Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Structural focus. Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license; setup and maintain an NCEES record for licensure. Four years of experience in the building structural engineering field. Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand at a desk and work from a computer for prolonged periods. Ability to travel to perform site visits at various project locations around the country. Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds if needed. This job requisition is Evergreen, meaning it is continuously open for applications. Candidates with applicable skillsets will be contacted on an ad hoc basis. Anticipated starting pay range: between $97,000 - $123,000.
