GNC Engineer (Principal or Engineer Guidance Navigation Control)

Northridge, CA . Our work influences the investment decisions of our senior leadership and customer program offices. The GN&C discipline is a mesh of many fields (e.g., Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering) and collaborates across disciplines, offering a broad understanding or deep expertise in relevant fields. This role involves developing requirements, refining system requirements, and influencing future technologies and capabilities. You will work with engineers and leadership to recommend designs, develop Concepts of Operation (CONOPs), and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). Responsibilities include developing and integrating system simulation frameworks, performance models, algorithms, threat models, and command and control models. What You’ll Get To Do Drive the full cycle of mission trajectories from requirements to operations. Perform trajectory design, optimization, and dispersion analysis for missile missions. Develop flight constants and guidance parameters, verified via analysis. Create software automation tools for mission design, analysis, testing, and reporting. Perform trade studies to improve weapon performance and reliability. Implement new software or algorithms for mission capabilities. Support the full mission lifecycle, from sales to execution. Interact with customers to execute missions and develop future business. Basic Qualifications Minimum 5 years with a Bachelor’s or 3 years with a Master’s in a related field for Principal Engineer; 2 years with a Bachelor’s or none with a Master’s for Engineer Guidance Navigation Control. Experience with guidance algorithms, navigation algorithms, flight control, tracking algorithms, and modeling of sensors and systems. US Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications Proposal development experience, Master’s in STEM, familiarity with AGILE, MBSE, system architecture frameworks. Strong project management, communication skills, and experience with version control tools. Leadership skills and ability to present technical data to leadership and government. Salary range: $89,400 - $134,200. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO. Application period is approximately 20 days from posting.
