Overview

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Superintendent (Electrical) to join our Project Delivery and Construction team in Cary, North Carolina. In this role, you will lead specific construction site activities, including specific trades, and manage parts of the field operations on projects. You will also support the Project Director, Project Manager, and Construction Manager for oversight of work progress, subcontractor manpower, and correct work coordination between the trades. Additionally, you will assist with ensuring that the subcontractor and vendor work is completed safely and in compliance with the contract documents and project schedule. Responsibilities
Collect and assemble on-site testing reports, inspection reports, and the completion of Construction Completion Records for close-out documentation to the IPS Commissioning/Validation team and client. Assume primary responsibility for activities associated with specific trades on assigned construction sites. Lead assigned vendors and subcontractors to meet project goals. Ensure achievement of safety objectives and corporate goals on assigned projects. Ensure projects meet applicable quality requirements. Interact with clients at the site on assigned projects and promote positive relationships. Support the Project Director, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Senior Superintendent in the development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans. Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, including targeted and actual activities lists, durations, and sequencing logic. Develop a working knowledge of the project budget for assigned trades and identify exceptions to the budget as the project progresses. Support the development of change control documentation and related financial documentation. Oversee the work of assigned vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Participate in constructability reviews of design documents. Support procurement and coordination of all required extra-corporate project resources. Conduct pre-bid walkthrough and descope meetings. Support the evaluation of vendor and subcontractor invoices and requests for payment against actual performance. Manage subcontractor and vendor field time and materials change requests; evaluate their legitimacy against contractual requirements and cost estimates. Facilitate communication between subcontractors, vendors, and project personnel, and document communications. Support the RFI process. Perform periodic site inspections and evaluations, and report results. Assist in the production of daily site condition reports, including weather, force levels, and safety issues. Review job safety analysis documentation and other safety documentation as required by the corporate safety program. Coordinate with trade subcontractors at the site through periodic coordination meetings. Ensure submittals are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements. Review submittals as necessary to meet project requirements and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Oversee startup and commissioning activities of assigned trades if included in the project scope. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline or an equivalent technical degree. 10+ years of experience in Project Delivery or a related discipline. Physical Demands
Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods. Must possess the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required. Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders as necessary. Work Environment
Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which may include exposure to varying working conditions. Must be able to adhere to strict cleanroom gowning protocol. Travel
This position will have 25% travel, or as required by the assigned project. You may be assigned to a client site for an extended period of time. Overnight travel or staying in the city of the Client’s location is possible, depending on the assignment. Please review the IPS Travel Policy. You will visit construction sites and will be required to take site safety training and adhere to site safety rules. Must have access to reliable transportation. Must have the ability to travel and commute on a daily or routine basis. Work schedule may require flexibility, including availability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, as well as weekends. The employee is designated for field work and attends activities at client sites where they work in construction, process, packaging, manufacturing, research, or other non-administrative areas.
