DEA’s Energy Business Unit is seeking an
Electrical Designer
to join our team in Tukwila or nearby Puget Sound region office locations.
What You’ll Do
Design electrical systems including main service and distribution, standby power, general power, and circuiting.
Design and produce drawings suitable for construction with sufficient detail based on engineer input, including verbal and written instructions, and drawing upon previous work and reference material.
Understand and comply with client-specific and DEA CAD standards and preferences.
Implement file management procedures to organize and maintain electronic drawing files.
Communicate effectively with other drafting and design staff and clients.
What You Bring
3 years of experience as an electrical designer or equivalent.
Proficient in AutoCAD with working knowledge in other CAD applications (MicroStation, Revit) preferred.
Strong ethical behavior with a focus on quality work within project budgets and schedules.
Commitment to client satisfaction.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Self-starter, highly motivated team player, able to work under time constraints.
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task on several design projects.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic knowledge of lighting.
Basic knowledge of data cabling, fire alarms, CCTV, and access control.
Ability to provide quality control of others’ work.
Ability to modify technical specifications as needed.
Understanding of national, Washington state, and local electrical codes.
