Senior Electrical Engineer (Phased Array Systems)
Employment Type:
Full-Time | On-Site
Package:
$125,000 – $150,000 Base + Equity + Benefits + Flexible PTO
Are you an experienced electrical engineer ready to take ownership of cutting-edge hardware from concept through deployment? Want to design mission-critical electronics for next-generation phased array communication systems in space and aerospace platforms?
On offer is the opportunity to join a fast-growing space technology company building state-of-the-art digital and mixed-signal hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and airborne vehicles. You’ll lead end-to-end design of complex modules and subsystems, from architecture to production, while mentoring engineers and driving innovation in phased array payloads, SDRs, and avionics systems.
This role offers both technical depth and leadership impact. You’ll architect, design, and deliver high-reliability electronics for space applications, working hands-on through schematic, layout, analysis, bring-up, and verification. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also guide small teams of engineers, making key decisions that shape critical spaceflight hardware.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and small systems, from architecture to release.
Develop digital and mixed-signal hardware for phased array systems, SDRs, SBCs, and telemetry subsystems.
Lead small engineering teams, setting hardware architecture, requirements, and integration strategies.
Perform schematic design and PCB layout (Altium Designer) for advanced, high-density boards.
Conduct analysis including worst-case circuit, signal integrity, and power integrity studies.
Plan and execute hardware bring-up and verification for modules and integrated systems.
Release hardware to production in collaboration with manufacturing and test engineering.
Apply cross-disciplinary knowledge (software, mechanical, systems) to streamline designs.
Essential Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
6+ years of experience in board-level electronics design, analysis, and test.
Expertise in digital and mixed-signal hardware, including FPGAs, ADCs/DACs, and high-speed digital.
Strong background in PCB layout for high-density, high-speed systems.
Proficiency with SI/PI tools (e.g., SIwave, ADS SIPro, Hyperlynx).
Extensive lab experience in bring-up, debugging, and verification of complex boards.
Proven ability to deliver hardware from design through production.
Must meet ITAR/EAR requirements (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee).
Application Instructions If you’re excited to help build phased array electronics for the future of space communications, please click to apply or send your resume to jake.payne@newspacetechnical.com
