Core Engineering What You'll Do As a System Engineer/Technical Authority for an assigned system, the candidate will be responsible for becoming a Subject Matter Expert, in a specific area or topic, and are expected to be uniquely qualified to provide guidance and strategy to help fill knowledge gaps on projects or within a company; regarding the assigned system as needed. The candidate is expected to react to issues as they arise, troubleshoot, provide solutions and document all field changes to their system. The position requires knowledge in Industrial Facility Utility Systems such as: Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Steam Distribution Systems, Domestic water & Sewer, and Compressed Air. Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA or Master’s degree in engineering discipline with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A Preferred Job Requirements
The position requires frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. The position requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment. The ability to evaluate and provide feedback on new and proposed revisions to technical operating procedures, design drawings and requirements, and facility systems, structures, and components.
