Collaborate with ODMs and suppliers to validate prototypes, tooling, and production builds. Actively participate in architectural discussions and provide insightful recommendations on server mechanical design. Mentor and grow junior mechanical engineers. Who You Are
At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in server, rack, or data center hardware development. Strong CAD expertise (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent), including parametric modeling and drafting. Solid experience with sheet metal, die casting, extrusion, and plastic part design. Demonstrated experience in thermal design (airflow, heat sinks, liquid cooling preferred). Strong background in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and design for assembly/manufacturability. Experience taking mechanical designs from concept through production, including supplier engagement. Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary teams (electrical, thermal, manufacturing, system architects). Excellent problem-solving and debug skills for complex mechanical and thermal challenges. Strong documentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate design decisions and tradeoffs. Prior experience with structural and fluid simulations for mechanical and thermal performance validation. Strong understanding of high-volume engineering design and manufacturing practices. Preferred
10+ years of mechanical engineering experience with a focus on server or hyperscale data center systems. Familiarity with GPU/AI server architectures and large-scale rack deployments. Experience working with ODM/JDM partners on mechanical designs. Strong understanding of industry standards in data center server mechanics (e.g., OCP, EIA rack standards). Expertise in advanced thermal solutions (e.g., direct-to-chip liquid cooling, cold plates). Experience with FEA/thermal simulation tools (ANSYS, Icepak, FloTherm, or equivalent). Why CoreWeave
