Description AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to new product innovations that set AWS apart in the industry. As part of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps services, including security solutions for cloud services. Within UC, Annapurna Labs designs silicon and software that accelerate innovation. Our custom chips, accelerators, and software stacks enable us to tackle unprecedented technical challenges, delivering impactful results for our customers. We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to define, design, and validate AWS’s next-generation ML Chips, Cards, and server integration. As a senior hardware team member, you will participate in designing PCIe and SerDes topics to create customized platforms for AWS data centers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for hardware design and optimization in our data centers, applying new technologies to large-scale server deployments, and continuously improving product performance, quality, and cost. Basic Qualifications Deep knowledge of PCIe interface Gen4 or above, at chip and PCB levels. Understanding of Transmission line theory and Electromagnetics, especially in SerDes and high-speed interfaces. Experience with lab equipment (VNA, scope) for electrical validation. Scripting skills for test automation and data analysis. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Preferred Qualifications Experience with server hardware design, validation, and signal integrity. Knowledge of product development cycles from concept to production.
