Overview
Vertiv is hiring a Sourcing Lead for its Infrastructure Solutions business in Pelzer, SC. This person will engage with Infrastructure Solutions Project Teams consisting of Offering Management, Pre-Sales Engineering, Solution Architects, Product Engineering, Project and Site Managers, and Commodity Management to develop and manage supply chain execution from project award through execution phase for 3rd party buyout equipment and services for all Infrastructure Solutions. Buyout equipment includes low-volume highly specified transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, chiller solutions, etc. Services may include module fabrication/integration supplier, engineer consulting services, general contractors/trades, etc. This position collaborates with Americas Regional Commodity Managers responsible for standard direct material commodities to ensure spend leverage for Vertiv. Primary area of responsibility is Americas. The Sourcing Lead is responsible for execution of project materials and services by awarded supply chain from initial design to final commissioning at the customer site. This position is responsible for project cost vs. budget analysis, sourcing analysis, developing sourcing plans in conjunction with Commodity Management, and maintaining system parameters relative to suppliers and the parts they supply. This position will manage P.O. contract execution of the terms with the selected suppliers, including technical compliance, price and terms, and coordination with Accounts Payable for milestone/progress payments and to suppliers upon work completion. The Sourcing Lead may be called upon for Continuous Improvement efforts around business processes and key systems implementation at Vertiv facilities. This role will help manage our Preferred Supply Base specific to Infrastructure Solutions and other lines of business, including development efforts within LCC such as Mexico. Responsibilities
Primary role to program manage supply chain execution from PO placement to final delivery of goods and services. Coordinate with Commodity Managers and Engineering to define supplier requirements and evaluation. Establish and support localized sourcing including parts and services consistent with Sourcing Strategies. Prepare and transmit requests for quotes for items to be purchased via telephone, fax and mail. Coordinate with core team and operations to ensure timely purchase order placement. Maintain and improve the supply chain tracking database for all 3rd party buyouts and services by project, reporting on time delivery results. Maintain supplier performance meetings for continuous improvement. Participate in cross-functional teams from execution phase meetings and drive collaboration with Category Management for standard or buyout direct material needs. Coordinate with Logistics to ensure product is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner. Coordinate with Project Manager, Finance/Accounts Payable to manage purchase orders through to completion and final payment to suppliers. Match supplier invoicing to P.O. and proper receipt by Project Management; help validate for payment. Ensure Vertiv standard practices and procedures are followed in procurement and delivery of all parts. Build collaborative working relationships with key staff of all supply chain departments (e.g., Materials, Procurement and Operations, Offering Management, Engineering, Services). Help manage project master files for Team (project execution). Monthly review of open P.O. file for IS required actions. Position Details
