HDR is seeking a Site Civil Engineer for our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Missouri, based in Kansas City or St. Louis. The role involves working within an integrated team on facility and infrastructure site designs across various markets, including Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Federal, and Mission Critical projects. Responsibilities include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, from planning to construction administration. Experience in site development and civil site design (grading, utilities, stormwater, erosion control) is preferred. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality civil site designs. Primary Responsibilities
Design and plan civil projects including site layouts, grading, drainage, paving, and utilities Perform quantity calculations Prepare specifications and contract documents Coordinate with jurisdictional authorities for permitting Exercise judgment in complex engineering assignments Make decisions on design and procedures Function as Project Manager or Engineer as needed Oversee work of professionals and technicians Develop scope, budgets, and estimates for proposals Engage in client relations, marketing, and meetings Manage project finances and schedules Perform additional duties as required Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D Experience with modeling software like Hydraflow, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD Experience in architectural/engineering consulting preferred Local candidates preferred Project management experience At least 4 years of civil engineering experience in site design Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree Experience in civil engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license Strong leadership and communication skills Experience with Civil Engineering software (InRoads, Siteworks, Hecras) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excellent verbal and written communication skills Commitment to our employee-owned culture Our Values and Commitment
