Clark Nexsen is seeking an Electrical Engineer (PE) who will be responsible for performing, directing and supervising all aspects of electrical engineering on multi-discipline building design projects of moderate to large scope for commercial and government facilities. Responsibilities

Performing all aspects of electrical engineering design as a lead engineer, including conceptual studies, program requirements, design analyses, calculations, equipment selection and layout, and system selection and layout for building design and site electrical utilities. Meeting with clients (internal and external) to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of services. Directing and supervising the work of EITs or designers assigned to the project, particularly where engineering judgment on the part of the EIT/designer is exercised and unusual or difficult problems are encountered. Obtaining guidance from senior engineers and the Department Head as necessary to resolve technical and coordination issues and conflicting criteria. Complying with the company’s quality control policies and procedures. Providing and supervising electrical support services during the bidding process, i.e., preparing addenda and amendments as required. Performing and supervising electrical construction phase services including representing the firm on-site, answering RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings. Working with, responding to, and taking direction from Project Managers, Managing Principals, Design Principals, Department Directors, Department Head, and senior management. Participating in team meetings and coordinating efforts with other team members. Directing, supervising and training junior electrical staff as directed. Mentoring and monitoring the professional development of junior electrical staff. Qualifications and Skills

Ability to prepare effective and concise documents and correspondence. Ability to make effective presentations to a variety of groups. Be dedicated to the advancement of the engineering profession. Graduate of an ABET-accredited 4- or 5-year engineering program in Electrical Engineering (Building design or power distribution focus), Electrical Engineering Technology (Building design or power distribution focus), Architectural Engineering (Electrical Engineering focus), or Architectural Engineering Technology (Electrical Engineering focus). Must be a fully licensed Professional Engineer in at least one US state, preferably in the local jurisdiction. Understanding of sustainable design principles; LEED AP accreditation preferred. Certifications such as CEM, RCDD, CLEP are desirable; additional certifications like CDT, CCS, or CCCA are encouraged. Active participation in IEEE, IES or other related professional organizations is desirable. Ability to effectively utilize current company software for word processing, e-mail, accounting, and information management. Working familiarity with design and production software to understand capabilities and interact with support staff. Typically at least 4 years of significant design and leadership experience in an electrical engineering role within an engineering firm or multi-discipline firm, with knowledge of energy codes and standards. Strong experience in the design of building power distribution, lighting, communications and security systems. Experience as a lead designer or Electrical Engineer in federal, state, municipal, healthcare, commercial, higher education or similar projects; experience with Design/Build and CM at Risk is desirable. Previous experience with wireless communications projects may be given additional consideration for Electrical Engineers assigned to our Wireless Communications division. Working Conditions

At JMT, we prioritize a healthy work/life balance and offer a flexible hybrid working schedule. The selected candidate is expected to work in a JMT office location at least three days per week or as needed to perform assigned duties. While most of our work is desk-based, there may be times when standing, walking, bending and lifting of minimal weight are required.
