Role Summary The Commissioning Manager works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious. Applies advanced principles, theories and concepts. Helps to contribute to the development of new principles and concepts. Is a recognized authority in the field.
Responsibilities
Manages specifically assigned project deliverables related to commissioning
Identifies and recommends work process improvement
Reviews "lessons learned" data base for suitable application to tasks
Recommends task assignments
Participates in technical review meetings for conflict resolution in field, contractors and at suppliers
Reviews coordination of documents from other disciplines, contractors, customer and outside agencies
Approves switchgear design, specifications and submittals as assigned
Approves Engineering studies with ETAP / SKM; Reviews vendor submittals for switchgear, generator systems, UPS systems
Basic knowledge of conceptual power system commissioning, inspection and testing
Understand medium voltage power systems
Basic knowledge of protective relaying; Advanced automation knowledge
Qualifications
10+ years of experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
7+ years of experience with a Master\'s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
Certifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE)
Preferred but not required:
Professional Engineer (PE)
License Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
Certified in Power Quality (CPQ)
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)
Lighting Certified (LC)
Certified Lighting & Efficiency Professional (CLEP)
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Six Sigma Yellow Belt
Six Sigma Green Belt
Six Sigma Black Belt
National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or equivalent
Design Build Institute of America (DBIA)
Abilities
Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
