Cardiac Specialty Outpatient - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Atlanta. Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a full-time position. The Advanced Practice Provider in this role will also provide ambulatory coverage Monday-Friday. Responsibilities
Ambulatory and inpatient care responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assesses patient and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (including stress testing) to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems; prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care. Takes patient histories, conducts physical examinations, writes progress notes, prepares patient workups and summaries, history and physicals, and consultation notes noting pertinent positive and negative findings; obtains psychosocial history relevant to patient care and develops therapeutic relationships with patients. Orders and schedules laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explains necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient, the patient’s family, and staff. Monitors patient progress, reports progress to supervising physician, maintains records of each patient’s progress, and consults with the supervising physician when progress does not meet anticipated criteria. Minimum Requirements: PA:
Graduate of a Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board NP:
Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nursing Seniorities and Employment
