PharmD Fellowship Program – Global Scientific Communications Location: Scholar Rock, Cambridge, MA (Hybrid) Duration: 2 Years Program Focus

Scholar Rock’s Global Scientific Communications Fellowship provides PharmD graduates with comprehensive, hands-on experience in medical affairs. The fellowship offers deep expertise in Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and exposure to Scholar Rock’s broader neuromuscular pipeline. Core areas include medical communications, publications, medical information, and congress planning, with global cross-functional collaboration to communicate emerging science and support data dissemination for patient care worldwide. The program emphasizes foundational knowledge and leadership development to prepare fellows for a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. Learning Objectives

Develop deep expertise in scientific and medical communications. Understand the strategic role of communications in product lifecycle management. Gain experience in a global cross-functional matrix environment. Enhance project management, critical thinking, scientific writing, leadership, and accountability. Build a professional network within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Develop understanding of the biotechnology industry landscape, including drug development processes and organizational dynamics. Year 1: Foundational Training and Cross-Functional Immersion

The Fellow will build a strong foundation in scientific communications by working across medical communications, publications planning, medical information, and congress strategy/execution. Please note: Responsibilities listed are examples and may evolve based on priorities, fellow interests, and business needs. Responsibilities by Area

Medical Communications: Contribute to scientifically accurate, balanced content for healthcare professionals; assist in medical education initiatives (scientific symposia, field medical decks, infographics, and other materials). Publications Planning and Execution: Participate in publication planning, define timelines, and collaborate with authors on manuscripts, abstracts, and posters for journals and major congresses. Medical Information: Support development, review, and maintenance of global standard response documents; participate in medical information call center operations; respond to inquiries in a compliant and scientifically accurate manner; capture insights to inform strategy. Congress Strategy and Execution: Support presence at global scientific conferences, including congress activities, medical booth planning, and post-congress debriefs. Cross-Functional Collaboration and Innovation: Work with medical affairs, clinical development, regulatory, and commercial teams; contribute to process improvements in scientific communications. Year 2: Strategic Ownership and Leadership Development

In the second year, fellows take on increased strategic responsibilities, drive independent projects with full ownership, and continue developing leadership and scientific communication skills while contributing to global initiatives. Responsibilities include continued process improvements and innovation, mentorship, and a fellowship legacy project. Other Opportunities

Optional cross-functional projects or short-term rotations across key departments (e.g., Field Medical, Evidence Generation, Medical Affairs Operations, HEOR, Global Regulatory Affairs, Patient Advocacy). Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of pharmacy before the fellowship start date Strong scientific foundation and interest in scientific communications and medical affairs Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in creating clear, data-driven scientific presentations in PowerPoint Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills Prior internship or experience in medical affairs or scientific communications is desirable Why Join Us
