The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) seeks two faculty members who are board-certified or board-eligible to join the development of a dedicated Neurohospitalist Program at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California. The ideal candidates will have training in inpatient management of complex neurological disorders. Fellowship training in Neurohospitalist medicine, Vascular Neurology (Stroke), or Neurocritical Care is preferred. Position Details

Location: Orange, CA / Irvine, CA. Appointment in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Eligibility for academic appointment and for an active, unrestricted California medical license is required. Salary will follow the UC Irvine health sciences compensation plan and may include additional compensation. Responsibilities

Teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service as part of the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Collaborate with the Comprehensive Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center and a multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neuro-intensivists, neuro-interventionalists, cerebrovascular surgeons, and neuro-radiologists. Engage in teaching, clinical research, or participation in clinical trials; involvement with international, national, or regional professional societies is valued. Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD from an accredited institution with appropriate training and experience; postgraduate clinical training; board certification or eligibility in a medical specialty. Eligible for one of the medical specialty boards and for an active California medical license; hold medical staff privileges at UC Irvine Medical Center. Ability to qualify for a faculty appointment in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. Application Process
