Fulfills the needs of patients, families and community by performing routine and intensive respiratory therapy, diagnostic procedures and patient assessments in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. Maintains and stocks respiratory equipment; ensures ventilator and life support equipment are operable. Communicates effectively (verbal and written) and maintains confidentiality; adapts to changing priorities. Demonstrates basic computer and customer service skills; identifies and addresses the needs of the population served. Provides a range of therapies including ventilator management, ARDS protocol, advanced vent modes (APRV, ASV, NAVA), inhaled nitric oxide, airway clearance, airway management, non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, and PFTs; participates in bedside and ED care, ICU mobilization, and rapid response activities. Supports post-surgical ventilator weaning and care; contributes to multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary care and education initiatives. Engages in education pathways, clinical rotations, and ongoing departmental training for nursing, physicians, and students. Qualifications

Graduation from an approved two-year respiratory therapy program. Licensed by the District of Columbia Health Regulation; licensed as an RRT and NBRC-certified; or eligible to obtain required licenses/certifications within specified timelines. Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS and PALS within six months of hire. Excellent critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team; strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A minimum of 0 to 1 year full-time experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting. Benefits
