Dental Hygienist - Part Time or Full Time — Franklin Park, IL Key Responsibilities
Perform dental cleanings, including the removal of plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth Conduct oral health assessments and record patient dental histories Take and develop dental X-rays as needed Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to help prevent tooth decay Assist the dentist during procedures such as exams, fillings, crowns, extractions, and other treatments Prepare and organize dental instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures Provide patients with oral hygiene education, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional guidance Offer post-treatment care instructions to ensure proper recovery and maintenance Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment following established infection control protocols Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized clinical environment, including treatment rooms and sterilization areas Ensure all instruments and equipment are functioning properly and safely Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charting Welcome and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort and clear communication Schedule appointments and manage front desk tasks when required Certification
A degree or certificate in hygiene from an accredited program and a valid state license CPR/BLS Certification Ability to manage time efficiently Excellent verbal skills to communicate professionally with patients and staff Seniority level
