Overview

CT/Radiology Technologist – Immediate Opening with Sign On Bonus. Per Diem - PRN schedule. Works under minimal supervision with the physicians to perform CT imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance. Responsibilities

Review physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, and applicability to selected CT protocol. Screen patients for contrast allergies, contraindications, and appropriateness that would prohibit or modify the CT exam. Communicate with Radiologists to discuss stat/urgent findings. If modification of a CT protocol is necessary, consult with radiologist to determine appropriate CT exam and document changes in the electronic health record. Ensure that other resources such as nursing, anesthesia, and scheduling are in order. Interview patient, conduct screening, obtain medical history pertaining to the procedure's clinical criteria. Explain procedures and instruct patients on requirements needed to provide diagnostic images. Administer oral and IV contrast as appropriate and observe for adverse reactions. Assist the physician as needed in performing procedures. Ensure images and information are properly documented with patient ID data and appropriate labeling. Perform CT exams in accordance with age-specific criteria and ALARA radiation safety principles. Quality Control: perform QC testing and report problems with CT systems and workstations. Coordinate with service engineers/biomed, physicist, and imaging leadership as needed. Maintain QA compliance including ACR requirements and accreditation imaging requirements. Participate in imaging credentialing and training activities. Required to lift 40-50 lbs. Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Use organizational culture behaviors (PACT and AIDET). Participate in codes/rapid responses. Communicate shift handoffs regarding workflow issues with equipment or pending exams. Support equitable distribution of departmental workload. Participate in orientation and training for new hires and students. Collaborate with other service lines to deliver patient care effectively. Prioritize exams and scheduling to ensure smooth workflow and minimize patient wait times, including stat requests. Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, regulatory compliance, and department goals. Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and protect workstations and processes. Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Radiologic Sciences or graduated from AMA-approved school. Licenses/Certifications: ARR T-CT, Texas Medical Board (TMB) Medical Radiologic Technologist, Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA or ARC. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree. Security and EEO Statement
