Overview

Medical Oncology position in Bridgeport for a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant. Location: St. Vincent’s Medical Center (10427). Shift: Mon-Fri. Full-time opportunity with Hartford HealthCare, the largest healthcare system in Connecticut. Responsibilities

Collaborate with attending surgeons to provide skilled health care to patients in diverse clinical settings and coordinate clinical management with health care teams. Utilize nursing processes to assess, plan, evaluate, and treat patients with surgical concerns, following established practices, standards, protocols, and guidelines. Provide direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, workups, triage, emergency visits, and other patient care activities. Obtain and document health history, perform physical examinations, and order/interprete diagnostic tests. Counsel patients regarding diagnosis and expected treatment course. Collaborate with physicians to provide appropriate direct care interventions within scope of practice. Collect, organize, and discuss data; apply sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine. Prescribe pharmaceuticals according to patient needs and conduct appropriate follow-up and outreach. Ensure timely retrieval of laboratory and ancillary studies and diagnostic reports. Qualifications

Eligibility to be licensed in Connecticut as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is required. Eligibility to be certified as a Physician Assistant or hold National Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) is required. Oncology experience as a PA, NP, or RN is preferred. Schedule
