The Nemours Children’s Hospital Enterprise Department of Pathology is seeking a full-time Vice-Chair with experience in medical directorship and administrative leadership of Clinical Pathology and the Transfusion Medicine program, encompassing both Blood Bank and Cellular Therapy services. The Vice-Chair will provide oversight of NCH-DE Clinical Pathology and partner with the NCH-DE and NCH-FL Chairs of Pathology to deliver enterprise clinical excellence and system-wide quality management and regulatory compliance. This role will drive strategic growth within the Nemours Clinical Laboratory and Department of Pathology ecosystem and lead laboratory stewardship initiatives. The Enterprise Vice-Chair will play an integral role in the growth of the Nemours Children’s Health Enterprise Transfusion Medicine Program in collaboration with the Chairs of Pathology for Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware and Nemours Children’s Hospital Orlando. The role includes establishing the Nemours Cellular Gene Therapy Laboratory and developing clinical and research activities for CGT. The Vice-Chair will oversee all existing blood banking and cellular gene therapy laboratory services and, in an enterprise capacity, evolve transfusion medicine services across Nemours’ geographic regions (Delaware Valley and Florida). Collaboration with the Apheresis and Cellular Therapy Collections Medical Director will oversee therapeutic and clinical apheresis services, including plasmapheresis and erythroapheresis. NCH-DE offers patients access to advanced cellular therapies, including CAR-T and gene therapies for sickle cell disease and thalassemia, and participates in clinical trials such as cord blood transplant for cerebral palsy and TCR αβ/CD19+ depleted grafts. The Vice-Chair will contribute to a rapidly expanding cellular gene therapy program and work with clinical and administrative leaders and the Lisa Dean Moseley Foundation Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders to deliver state-of-the-art treatments and academic advancements.
