As a State Of Connecticut Dentist, You Will Provide comprehensive dental care Provide examinations to diagnose Treat and educate patients on their oral conditions/diseases Engage in a rewarding career Work with a collaborative team to achieve success Make an impact and gain valuable experience in the public sector This position is Full Time (40 Hours), first shift, 7AM-3PM, Monday to Friday. About Us
The Brooklyn Correctional Institution is a level 3 medium-security facility. It offers extensive programming to assist offenders with the successful law abiding return to the community. Programs include: Educational Services with GED, English as a Second Language, and Special Education; Vocational Programs, Business Education, Computer Skills; Literacy Volunteers; Sex Offender Programming; Anger Management and Substance Abuse Programming. The Corrigan Correctional Institution offers an extensive anger management curriculum and a close monitoring unit for offenders classified as gang members, with cultural and gang awareness programs. A full complement of educational and addiction services programming is also offered. The Department of Correction strives to be a leader in progressive correctional practices and partnered re-entry initiatives to support evidence-based practices and reduce recidivism. Safety and security are priorities, with respect for the dignity of staff, victims, citizens and offenders. Selection Plan

Provides preventive dental maintenance and acute dental care including examinations and diagnoses, operative and prosthetic dentistry, exodontia, periodontia, radiology and prophylaxis; Consults with physicians to aid in medical diagnoses by investigating possible foci of dental and oral infections; Requests laboratory tests and x-rays; Administers drugs; Responds to dental emergencies; Educates clients and staff on oral health and dental services offered by facility; May participate in instruction of dental residents and dental assistant students; Performs related duties as required. Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Knowledge of dental operative techniques and dental surgery; Skills interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications - General Experience
Incumbents must possess and maintain a license as a dentist issued by the Department of Public Health in accordance with the applicable Connecticut General Statutes. Working Conditions
Incumbents may be required to lift and restrain clients and may be exposed to disagreeable conditions, communicable diseases, and risk of injury from assaultive or abusive clients. Acknowledgement
