Overview

We are seeking an

Enterprise Architect

for a premier banking institution. This is the senior-most individual contributor role, designed for a proven technology leader who operates as a cross-organizational force multiplier. You will be instrumental in shaping the bank’s future-state architecture, championing a secure-by-design philosophy, and bridging the gap between groundbreaking technical innovation and rigorous, risk-mitigated execution. This high-profile position demands a leader capable of solving complex problems at scale, deeply influencing technical direction, and ensuring all engineering outcomes align with enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, and strategic business value. Key Focus Areas

You will engage with and accelerate outcomes across the

CTO Office, CISO Office, First Line Risk and Controls, Solutions Delivery, and Enterprise Architecture. Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership & Strategy:

Lead enterprise-wide architecture design and validation for strategic platforms (cloud-native, distributed systems, event-driven architectures), focusing on resiliency, scalability, and auditability. Risk-Driven Engineering:

Proactively identify and remediate architectural risk vectors in collaboration with InfoSec, Risk, and Control partners. Embed regulatory and audit readiness (OCC, FFIEC, SOX, GLBA) into technical patterns from inception. Cross-Domain Influence & Evangelism:

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives. Evangelize technical excellence, drive reuse, and reduce duplication across the organization. Identify bottlenecks and design accelerators to improve time-to-market and security posture. Governance & Compliance:

Represent architecture in key governance forums and design review boards. Influence policy and engineering standards with a focus on compliance and modernization. Service Delivery Enablement:

Partner with Service Delivery leadership to embed engineering standards and observability patterns, enhancing operational maturity and customer experience. Mandatory Qualifications & Experience

We are exclusively considering candidates from Fortune 500 or large-scale financial institutions. Experience:

15+ years of deep, hands-on engineering experience across multiple domains (application development, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data). Industry Background:

Proven leadership as a

Distinguished Engineer, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Fellow

in a

Fortune 500 Bank or Financial Services firm with over $100B in assets. Regulatory Expertise:

Extensive, practical experience with regulatory frameworks ( OCC, FFIEC, SOX, GLBA ) and a proven ability to design systems that are compliant from day one. Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies is a plus. Technical Mastery: Expert-level coding

in modern languages such as

Python, C#, or Golang . Expert-level abilities

with cloud service providers ( AWS, Azure, GCP ). Framework Knowledge:

Familiarity with industry frameworks including

NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, COBIT, TOGAF, and SABSA . Executive Presence:

Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior executives (C-suite, Board level) across technology, security, risk, and operations. Education:

Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Engineering.
