Overview
Principal Engineer / Salesforce Architect (PSS - Public Sector Solutions) at Nagarro. The Enterprise Architect (EA) with Salesforce Public Sector experience will lead the architectural design, governance, and strategic alignment of Salesforce solutions within a complex government or public sector enterprise environment. The EA ensures Salesforce platforms — such as Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS), Experience Cloud, Service Cloud, and Omni Studio — are integrated into the broader enterprise ecosystem, supporting scalability, compliance, security, and operational efficiency. The role acts as a trusted advisor, guiding technical and business stakeholders in transforming legacy systems, modernizing service delivery, and achieving digital transformation objectives aligned with public sector mandates.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Strategy: Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture blueprint and target state architecture for Salesforce-based solutions within the public sector landscape; align architectures with organizational strategy, compliance frameworks, and enterprise standards (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman); define reference architectures, patterns, and roadmaps for CRM, case management, citizen engagement, and digital service delivery; evaluate emerging Salesforce technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
Salesforce Solution Architecture: Design end-to-end Salesforce architectures leveraging Public Sector Solutions (PSS), Omni Studio, Experience Cloud, and Integration Middleware (MuleSoft, APIs, etc.); ensure architectures support multi-agency collaboration, data privacy, and government compliance (e.g., FedRAMP, CJIS, HIPAA); oversee integration with ERP, document management, identity management, and analytics platforms; guide development teams on best practices, reusability, configuration vs. customization, and performance optimization.
Governance and Standards: Establish and enforce architecture governance frameworks, ensure adherence to enterprise standards, data models, and security policies; participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) and provide approvals for major design decisions; define data governance, security, and access control models ensuring compliance with public sector regulations; manage technical debt, version control, and change management within Salesforce ecosystem.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between business leaders, program managers, and technical teams; translate strategic objectives into technical solutions; collaborate with Salesforce COE, system integrators, and vendors to align project delivery with architectural vision; provide executive-level presentations and recommendations on architecture options, trade-offs, and value realization.
Delivery Oversight: Support project delivery teams by reviewing design documents, user stories, and implementation plans; ensure projects meet scalability, interoperability, and performance benchmarks; contribute to RFP/RFI responses, solution evaluations, and vendor assessments.
Qualifications
10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture or solution architecture.
Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce ecosystem, including Public Sector Solutions (PSS), Omni Studio, Experience Cloud, and Service Cloud.
Proven experience in public sector implementations, including digital citizen services, permitting, licensing, case management, or benefits administration.
Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API-led connectivity, and middleware (MuleSoft, Informatica, etc.).
Experience designing for data security, privacy, and compliance in government or regulated environments.
Proficiency with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, FEAF, DODAF) and Salesforce best practices.
Salesforce Certifications: CTA, Application Architect, or System Architect; Public Sector Solutions Consultant or Omni Studio Developer/Consultant is a plus.
Experience with Agile / SAFe delivery methodologies.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps toolchains (Git, CI/CD pipelines).
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (master’s preferred).
Engagement Details Location: Boston, MA (Remote with occasional travel for non-locals)
