This description reflects the role and opportunities available at Black & Veatch. The Opportunity In this role you will have the opportunity to: Lead Electrical design
for water/wastewater projects
Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in the regional design centers that are supporting project detailed design
Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations
Support business development related to enhanced Electrical services
Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers
Additional Project Opportunities: Studies – Energy Optimization, Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, and Electrical Reliability Analysis
Construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues
Coordination with local electrical utilities on project technical needs
Review of supplier submittals
Act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams for Instrumentation and Control design
Startup and testing of major electrical equipment
The ideal candidate is located in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Office locations linked - www.bv.com/offices. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. The Team

Professional Engineer’s license in IL or another US jurisdiction
5-8 years in electrical design, planning and construction services
Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred
Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators
Understanding of PLC hardware and software setup, network configuration, HMI, SCADA system, instrumentation and fiber optic cabling
Experience in a client-facing/business development role
Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software a plus
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program and a minimum of 5 years related work experience. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements which may include background checks, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
