Overview
Senior Electrical Cx Engineer - Data Centers. Join Veolia North America as a Senior Electrical Cx Engineer focused on commissioning electrical systems in data center environments. This role requires self-motivation, energy, and an understanding of building electrical systems design and construction. The candidate will review project information, coordinate field activities, maintain documentation, assist with scheduling and resources, and guide Project Engineers. May lead small to medium projects and lead commissioning meetings or present technical topics as needed. Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Commission electrical distribution equipment and related controls, primarily in data center environments, including high voltage and medium voltage systems. Review system designs for compliance with client facility goals. Prepare plans and procedures for execution of the commissioning process. Conduct commissioning activities from the design phase through occupation, in accordance with client requirements and industry best practices. Attend factory testing of equipment and document procedures and results. Conduct functional testing of equipment and perform analysis of test results using instrumentation; prepare reports. Understand critical power quality requirements and test procedures. Perform thermographic surveys and analyze results. Fully document all field procedures including results, issues and observations, using company templates or online applications. Report on system performance and provide technical recommendations on issues. Coordinate and execute field activities with the Project Manager and project teams. Prepare input on commissioning project documentation and schedules; draft comprehensive test procedures for equipment and systems. Attend project coordination and schedule meetings; may lead commissioning meetings or speak on technical topics. Assist with submitting and maintaining daily commissioning reports. Train and guide Associate Project Engineers and Project Engineers on roles and responsibilities. Respond to project team and client inquiries professionally and timely; comply with safety requirements. Be knowledgeable with building equipment including generators, switchgear, transformers, UPS, battery systems, EPMS, ATS, STS, PDU, busways, RPP, grounding, and lighting control systems. Work Environment
Hybrid Work Environment. Travel nationwide 50% - 75% if not assigned locally; periods of higher travel may occur. Qualifications
Education/Experience
BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of mission-critical project experience, or relevant industry experience. Or a minimum of 7+ years of commissioning experience on mission-critical projects. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Organized, detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, problem solver. Good communication and relationship skills; effective written and verbal communication. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work with limited supervision, and guide junior engineers. Knowledge or experience with ASHRAE or BCxA commissioning guidelines preferred. Knowledge or experience with NETA test specifications. Distributed control system experience a plus; strong understanding of BMS/EPMS; testing instrumentation. Team player with a client-first mentality. Certifications/Licenses/Training
Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or commissioning certification is a plus but not required. Physical Requirements
Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day. Carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to wear required PPE daily. Additional Information
