About The Aerospace Sector
Quartus is a key contributor to aerospace advancements, specializing in engineering simulation and custom hardware. We’ve supported a diverse range of optical systems, launch vehicles and spacecraft projects involving design, analysis, testing, and hardware assembly and integration. Our aerospace sector experience includes aircraft structural design, analysis, and testing, including support for FAA certifications. Quartus works in commercial and defense aircraft applications, and in custom optical systems like laser communications terminals and lidar payloads with both aerial and space applications. What will you do?
We are looking for
Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, and Thermal Engineering
students interested in working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment and who are excited about assisting on a variety of projects to join our growing team. Projects may include design, analysis, software & control systems development, prototype development and/or testing of satellites, aircraft structures, launch vehicles, composite UAVs, cell phones, telescopes, and opto-mechanical laser and camera assemblies. Responsibilities
Assist in project development and work alongside engineers to contribute to project advancement, including research and data gathering Design and analysis: participate in the design process by creating drawings, models, or simulations and assist in analyzing designs Prototype development: help with hands-on assembly and building prototypes Testing and evaluation: support testing (TVAC, vibration, jitter, etc.) to evaluate performance and identify improvements Documentation: assist in documenting project progress, creating reports, drawings, and specifications, and maintaining test result records and design changes Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Problem solving: troubleshoot and resolve engineering problems as they arise Qualifications
Sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled at a four-year institution Majoring in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related fields Proactive, open-minded, eager to learn and able to work as part of a team Interest in FEA (finite element analysis) and/or on-orbit thermal analysis Interest in environmental testing (vibration, TVAC, etc.) Available full time for the specified term (40 hours per week) Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident) Location
Position is based onsite in San Diego, CA. Compensation And Benefits
Intern/Co-op pay range for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree: $24.00 - 28.00/hour Intern/Co-op pay range for students pursuing a Master\'s degree: $28.00 - 32.00/hour This range represents base pay. Additional benefits and compensation may apply. Equal Employment Opportunity
