About Eden
Eden is pioneering sustainable natural resource recovery by using electricity to enhance subsurface permeability. Our Electrical Reservoir Stimulation technology offers a precise, water-efficient alternative to traditional hydraulic fracturing, reducing environmental risks while maximizing resource extraction. Headquartered in Somerville, MA, with an office in Houston, TX, Eden combines geophysics, geochemistry, high-voltage engineering, and subsurface tool design to demonstrate our next-generation permeability enhancement technology across diverse geologies worldwide. We collaborate with industry leaders in geothermal energy, geologic hydrogen, carbon storage, and mining to redefine resource recovery for a carbon-neutral future. We are preparing for surface and subsurface field tests in collaboration with technical partners. Your Impact
Develop and refine 3D reservoir models in Petrel from geologic interpretations, incorporating gridding, upscaling, and facies modeling to capture heterogeneity and optimize simulation accuracy Distribute petrophysical properties and integrate natural and induced fractures using DFN, dual-porosity, and Embedded Discrete Fracture Models to achieve realistic subsurface representations Design and execute hydraulic fracture simulations in Kinetics, calibrating permeability, connectivity, and fracture geometry for high-fidelity results Configure and run full-field thermal recovery simulations in Intersect to evaluate Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) performance, including cold-water injection and heat extraction modeling Simulate thermal-hydraulic-mechanical-chemical (THMC) coupling to assess long-term reservoir behavior, fracture evolution, and energy recovery sustainability Partner with geologists, geomechanical engineers, and field teams to integrate multi-disciplinary data, validate models, and optimize stimulation strategies Identify and quantify key reservoir uncertainties through sensitivity analysis, guiding field development and design decisions Contribute to next-generation geothermal reservoir modeling frameworks to enhance recovery efficiency and accelerate EGS commercialization Requirements
About You
Master\'s or PhD (or equivalent expertise) in Petroleum, Reservoir, or Geothermal Engineering, or a closely related subsurface discipline 3+ years of experience building and running 3D reservoir models and full-field simulations, ideally within geothermal or unconventional systems Strong command of Petrel, Kinetics, and Intersect for model construction, upscaling, fracture integration, and thermal recovery simulation Proficient in fracture modeling and geomechanics, including stress analysis, fracture propagation, and permeability evolution under coupled THMC conditions Deep understanding of thermal recovery mechanisms, heat transfer physics, and flow behavior in high-temperature reservoirs Experience with discrete fracture networks (DFN), dual-porosity, and Embedded Discrete Fracture Models (EDFM) to capture reservoir heterogeneity and fracture connectivity Skilled in gridding, upscaling, and petrophysical property modeling to balance computational performance and simulation accuracy Analytical thinker capable of interpreting complex field and laboratory data, performing sensitivity analyses, and optimizing model performance Collaborative, detail-driven engineer who thrives in multi-disciplinary environments bridging geoscience, geomechanics, and field operations Preferred But Not Required
Experience with Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) or coupled THMC simulations Familiarity with fracture closure effects, stress anisotropy, and reservoir stimulation strategies Background in startup, R&D, or applied innovation environments with hands-on model iteration and fast experimental feedback loops Exposure to DOE / ARPA-E / SBIR geothermal or subsurface programs (proposal writing, technical reporting, or milestone tracking) Benefits
