Job Summary:
As a Temp Research Associate/Senior Research Associate member of the Genetic Pharmacology (GP) team, you will be instrumental in expanding GP's capabilities and supporting the in vitro engineering, validation, and characterization of preclinical cancer models as well as experimental data management systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generating and testing GEMM-derived tumor models and conducting in-house experiments to evaluate anti-cancer agents
Performing organoid isolation from mouse tissues, and executing genetic manipulations (CRISPR, shRNA, barcoding) via viral delivery and nucleofection
Conducting in vitro assays such as flow cytometry/FACS, proliferation, and viability assessments on cell lines and organoids
Executing molecular biology workflows, including DNA/RNA/protein preparation, PCR, qPCR, western blotting, JESS, TOPO sequencing, and related assays
Contributing to the build-out and application of Benchling for tracking of biological entities, experiments, data, and metadata in collaboration with multifunctional teams
Participate in digital transformation initiatives and address gaps in data harmonization and governance
Requirements and Qualifications:
A M.S. or B.S. in biology, computer science, or a related field
2+ years of lab experience, including in fundamental cell culture (organoid experience preferred) and basic molecular biology techniques in industry or academic research settings
Experience with design, development, and execution of biological experiments and assays (experience with mid/high-throughput workflows preferred)
Basic familiarity with preclinical cancer modeling modalities and major cancer genes/signaling pathways, as well as common strategies to perturb and understand them
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and interpret biological experiments with a high level of organization, precision, and rigor
Strong communication and collaboration skills to enable success in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and cross-functional work environment
