Anduril’s Manufacturing team seeks an Avionics-focused Manufacturing Engineer to join our team, responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware across the manufacturing value chain, including design for manufacturability, tooling design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor interaction, quality planning, and work documentation. The right candidate demonstrates holistic ownership of a technical challenge with a creative, physical solution they either personally manufactured or oversaw manufacturing on, in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment. What You’ll Do
Own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for electronics, avionics, and harnessing Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts Develop process flows, breaking down large, complex assemblies into a logical part flow of subassemblies and sub-processes Write documentation required for successfully manufacturing hardware at scale (work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements, etc.) Work with contract manufacturers across various disciplines to develop repeatable, sustained processes for quick-turn development and at-scale production Collaborate with technicians and other engineers hands-on, building prototype hardware Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical or electrical design (interconnects, board fabrication and inspection, etc.) Travel to suppliers for initial sourcing, resolve ongoing production issues, and implement quality procedures Required Qualifications
Degree in a technical field: Engineering, math, or hard science, providing a foundation for complex systems including avionics Avionics Experience: Demonstrated experience designing, integrating, or troubleshooting avionics systems; familiarity with embedded systems, RF electronics, and avionics manufacturing standards and certification requirements 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware Innovative problem solving in resource-constrained environments Hands-on manufacturing expertise (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.) Passion for manufacturing and a willingness to continuously learn Security Clearance Eligibility: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance Preferred Qualifications
PCBA fabrication experience including SMT processes Harnessing, soldering, crimping hands-on build experience DFx experience with NPI Production scaling experience for high-volume production Hands-on experience with RC and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or related control systems Software scripting experience in any language Compensation and Benefits
US Salary Range: $100,000—$150,000 USD. The salary range is an estimate; actual offer varies based on experience, education, skills, and business considerations. Equity grants are included in most full-time offers as part of total compensation.
