Overview

The Naval Architect (NA) role is an office-based position that primarily supports the development of bids and proposals within the Projects Division. The Naval Architect will generally be the primary engineer during pre-award planning. The Naval Architect shall work with the operations personnel to develop and technically vet methodologies for a variety of marine based projects, including salvage, wreck removal, and marine construction. It is expected that the candidate will have two (2) years of professional experience as a Naval Architect. Resolve shall provide onsite operational experience to the Naval Architect for training in the Salvage industry. Responsibilities

Provide support to the bid team as needed including the development of written technical plans, development of technical concepts, drawings and diagrams to support methodology, towing plans and calculations, rigging design and vessel connections, vessel arrangements, and site plans. Develop 3D hull models for use in stability software for damage stability, salvage, and wreck removal operations. Use stability software and hydrostatics information to develop ground reactions, ballast/cargo discharge requirements, and estimate freeing force requirements. Support various marine projects and wreck removal jobs (either remotely or in the field) by developing preliminary engineering plans, written technical plans, arrangements, and drawings. Develop structural design using first principles and advanced analysis calculations. Develop detail design/drafting in CAD format for vessel modifications, vessel repairs, outfitting, and site plans. Develop and engineer heavy lift and rigging arrangements. Develop and engineer vessel mooring system arrangements. Work with Salvage Master and operational teams to draft equipment/personnel resource requirements per job, project timelines, and production rates. Support other engineering projects that are associated with Resolve Marine’s ongoing operations as well as other business units. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, providing technical support on site or remotely. Assist the project management team in other support roles as may be required. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in maritime setting (salvage industry experience preferred) Experience with the development and completion of construction drawings using CAD drafting Engineer in Training (EIT) or ability to obtain EIT certification in Florida Computer Skills: Proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD software Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Project Proficient in hydrostatic calculations including the development of 3D hull models for using stability software (experience with GHS software preferred) Pre-employment drug testing is also prerequisite of employment. Up to 20% travel is required. If additional travel is required beyond the specified amount, it will be based on operational demand and you will be notified accordingly so arrangements can be made. Summary
