Responsibilities
Design light foundations and structures for solar farms, battery energy storage facilities, and substation projects Design heavy foundations and structures for large power generation projects: generators, turbines, transformers, pipe racks, gas compressors, metal building systems, and masonry walls/buildings Design structural steel systems for buildings, platforms, equipment supports, etc. Coordinate design requirements with drafter/designers Occasionally travel to clients and projects/sites to interface with clients, verify existing conditions, and monitor construction progress (5%-10% travel) Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner Proactively collaborate with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local, and privately funded projects, including proposal and business development opportunities Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 7+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering and prior structural or civil design experience Professional Engineer (PE) license Proficiency with structural engineering principles, practices, processes, and applications to project work Knowledge of structural and civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping Experience with power generation, transmission, and distribution projects Strong interpersonal and communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences Self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization in a dynamic environment Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and design tools (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, RISA, STADD) Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities for data analysis, calculations, and modeling Experience coordinating and directing subcontractors to complete tasks safely and efficiently Knowledge of geotechnical engineering Experience with pre-engineered metal building systems Experience with seismic analysis and design Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP health, safety, and harassment policies Ability to accommodate project-specific schedules that may extend beyond a typical workweek Occasional travel may be required based on project needs Open to longer duration field assignments (1 to 18 months)

Compensation
Expected salary (all locations): $98,300 - $175,230. WSP USA reserves the right to pay above or below the posted range based on qualifications and location, and to offer additional benefits as appropriate.
