What You’ll Be Doing

Responsible for contributing to the design and development of product adaptations and quality improvements for existing product lines; explores new technologies and processes planned for future products. Duties include: Prepare designs, specifications, analysis and recommendations for improvement of existing products and development of product adaptations. Prepare designs, specifications, analysis, and recommendations for quality improvements of existing products. Maintain design records pertinent to each project in the form of time, sketches, drawings, material specifications. Oversee the operations involved in the construction and testing of prototype products related to design changes. Prepare test plans and perform testing required for qualification of new parts or changes to existing products (e.g., thermal testing, material tests). Ensure compliance to standards such as UL, IEC, etc. Participate as core team member to implement feasible product cost-down ideas including managing technical specs and testing and qualification activities. Assist production and manufacturing engineers with part-related assembly issues, and collaborate on design changes to ensure easy assembly, disassembly, and service. Collaborate with NPD teams to ensure knowledge sharing and handover on new products post-release. Collaborate with plant Safety, Environmental, Quality, and manufacturing personnel to ensure processes and equipment produce a product that meets Safety, Environmental, Quality and Engineering standards.

What We’re Looking For

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5 years experience with product design and development and/or engineering research, with at least 2 years focused on power electronics equipment. 3 years experience with 3-Dimensional CAD. 3 years experience with fabrication processes (e.g., Aluminum extrusion, High pressure injection molding, Thermal/Vacuum forming, Sheet metal forming, CNC machining, Metal Casting). 2 years experience with Design for Manufacturing/Assembly knowledge.
