Recruitment Manager - Brunel - U.S. Mining Team
Brunel is currently searching for a
CAD Designer/GIS Operator
for direct hire with our mining client located between Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. We’re looking for an experienced CAD/GIS Operator to support the Technical Services team. In this role, you’ll create and manage technical drawings, site maps, and documentation for engineering, safety, and regulatory purposes. You’ll collaborate with engineers, surveyors, and geologists to ensure accuracy and compliance, while maintaining a structured document control system. Key Responsibilities: Create and update 2D/3D AutoCAD drawings and GIS maps (e.g., wellfields, pipelines, electrical systems). Support design planning for future construction projects including civil and process infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate data into accurate technical visuals. Maintain as-built drawings for all key infrastructure and process facilities. Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards and codes. Stay current with CAD/GIS software updates and tools. Operate UAVs (drones) for data collection and mapping. Organize and maintain document control systems for technical drawings and safety/regulatory documents. Ensure proper version control, document tracking, and secure archiving. Distribute updated documents to project teams and stakeholders. Support audits and inspections by preparing documentation and reports. Assist with reporting and presentations to technical and operations teams. Maintain compliance with internal and industry documentation standards. Requirements: Diploma or degree in Drafting, CAD, GIS, or related field a plus. 5+ years of experience in AutoCAD drafting in mining, civil, nuclear, wellfields, industrial, piping or construction) Preferred experience with GIS mapping and document control Must be proficient in AutoCAD and preferred experience with ArcGIS. Experience with document control platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Aconex). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Familiarity with mining regulations and field data collection methods (UAVs, remote sensing, mobile tools) is a plus. Solid communication and teamwork abilities. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with regular site visits to active mining areas. Must adhere to site safety protocols. Involves extended computer use and participation in technical reviews. Fieldwork includes verifying drawings and collecting real-time data.
