Overview:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Field Engineer provides construction engineering, estimating, and technical services. This position works with the project team to develop estimates, take-offs, work plans, construction drawings, and tracks scope changes and impacts. Assists the Project Engineer in communicating technical design documents to field installation crews.

Town – 40+, Projects – 70+
Type of Position:
Project/Full-Time
This position can be filled in either Fairbanks, AK or Anchorage, AK
Responsibilities:
Lead by example in Doyon’s commitment to zero incident safety and environmental culture.
Work closely with managers and supervisors to ensure understanding and compliance with project requirements.
Prepare calculations, work plans, documentation for project installation, lift plans, hydrotest plans.
Write and submit regular status reports to the Project Manager.
Interpret project design documents, codes, laws, and regulations as a technical expert.
Maintain current records for project documentation turnover.
Communicate regularly with management, project teams, and clients.
Prepare fabrication drawings and define scopes of work for RFPs.
Review project schedules and prepare as-built drawings.
Ensure client requirements are incorporated and verify documentation with Quality Control.
Understand contract provisions and coordinate with technical authorities.
Prioritize safety, quality, and standards compliance in all activities.
Develop relationships with client technical staff and project personnel.
Adhere to corporate policies and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or construction field, with 5-8 years of Arctic oil & gas pipeline project experience.
Experience in cost estimating, scheduling, scope of work, and managing change.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, AutoCAD; knowledge of API 1104, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3, B31.4.
Strong interpretation skills of technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and safety awareness skills.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Occasional lifting of 40+ pounds, outdoor work in extreme weather, extended hours, and travel as needed.
Valid driver’s license and pass drug/alcohol testing required.
