The University Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks on Naropa University campuses. They troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues with minimal supervision. Preferred candidates will have knowledge in building trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall installation and repair, and some landscaping experience. Job Duties & Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair complex maintenance problems. Implement building and grounds projects. Perform skilled carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work. Maintain and repair HVAC systems. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities. Maintain maintenance records and reports. Manage snow removal. Respond to calls on a rotating basis. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
At least 2 years of hands-on maintenance experience in at least two of the following areas: HVAC, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance. High School diploma or equivalent. Understanding and appreciation of Naropa University's values and the ability to embody them in work and communication. Certifications
Relevant professional certifications or licenses related to the above areas are preferred. Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience in HVAC or electrician certification. Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
Must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and working in various environmental conditions including heat, cold, dust, heights, and around moving machinery, with or without reasonable accommodation.
