In this role you will have the opportunity to: Function as a technical lead substation design engineer (substation design encompasses distribution, subtransmission and transmission level voltage classes) Perform substation design, including physical design and protective relaying/control Actively participate in management, project scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings Interface directly with clients, vendors and subcontractors QA/QC of projects and mentor junior engineers This position is hybrid and located in Tualatin, OR. It is preferred if the candidate is located near Portland/Vancouver metro. Candidates willing to relocate may be considered. The Team

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Standards: Learn, stay current, and apply department design guides, standards, codes, and BV policies relative to assigned tasks Quality/Continuous Improvement: Apply BV quality program to assigned tasks; may assist in ensuring compliance; provide guidance to others on the project Support continuous improvement and change management efforts Engineering Production: Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables Perform complex research and recommend equipment/material selections Prepare complex engineering calculations Manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements Evaluate and adapt engineering techniques and criteria Review lower-level work or assignments Oversee data management, lead smaller production teams, or serve as responsible charge for a project Project Coordination: Coordinate with internal/external team members on moderately complex projects Client Focus: Assist with identifying client interests on less complex projects; communicate these to the project team and integrate approaches to reflect client needs May support business development or pursuit activities Knowledge Sharing, Innovation and Technology: Recognized as a technical specialist with in-depth knowledge of an engineering process Design a complete project of moderately complex scope within an assigned area People Management: Assist with performance management, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions as needed Qualifications
Preferred PE License Substation Design – Physical & P&C Quality Assurance/Control of substation design projects Strong written communications; ability to drive for results, plan, delegate, and lead teams; conflict management and adaptability Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program Minimum 5 years related work experience Clearable with pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records as applicable) Work Environment
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days based on manager discretion and performance. Certifications
Professional registration or licensure in the designated home country, or active pursuit of such registration, may be required depending on the role. Salary Plan:
