Project Municipal Engineer

Pennoni is hiring for a Project Engineer to lead municipal projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Cape May, NJ.
Responsibilities
Work on a variety of projects, including municipal engineering for municipalities (subdivision & land development reviews, road rehabilitation, stormwater management, capital improvements, grant writing, and attendance at public meetings).
Prepare engineering reports.
Work on project design and permitting.
Review applications before planning, zoning, and/or land-use boards.
Coordinate master planning-related tasks.
Provide mentorship to less-experienced staff members.
Perform outdoor construction inspection work when needed.
Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-oriented discipline (preferably Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering).
6+ years of professional experience in Engineering, preferably with infrastructure/utility projects.
PE license in NJ (we will consider candidates who can obtain their PE within 6 months of start date).
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) credential is a plus.
Management or Project Management experience; ability to manage multi-discipline projects.
Experience with wet utility (water and/or wastewater) projects.
Experience with design and permitting activities.
Experience with water resources (e.g., stream and waterway restoration) is a plus.
Proficiency with engineering tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS) and related software.
Experience with H&H tools (e.g., HydroCAD, OpenFlows products) is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong teamwork, self-motivation, and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication; technical writing skills are strongly preferred.
Salary Target salary range: $100,000 – $125,000 per year.
