Lead Process Engineer

at Brady Europe, Middle-East & Africa. Join to apply for this role in the Materials R&D group. This position provides hands-on process engineering expertise and leadership to new product development programs and product improvement initiatives. Primary process areas include compounding, web coating and handling, and slitting operations. Responsibilities

Perform process development and scale-up activities in support of new product developments. Lead process improvement initiatives and custom product developments while interfacing with floor production personnel and operations management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Investigate product quality issues and institutionalize corrective actions. Lead and supervise research projects that deliver business results. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable new product development project success. Define and execute project activities through a defined Stage Gate process. Explore new technologies in material design or process for future Brady applications. Design and execute experiments to evaluate and optimize performance attributes of new technologies. Develop understanding of process capability, design selection criteria, and structure–property relationships for developed products. Research and identify relevant intellectual property and patentable inventions; maintain proper documentation of technical and experimental activities. Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering. Minimum relevant industrial product or process development experience: BS/MS +5 years, PhD +3 years. Experience with design of experiments and statistical analysis. Established track record of successful product or process development using DFSS tools. Roll-to-roll polymer processing operations expertise (calendaring, coating, etc.). Ability to formulate a technical strategy to solve complex problems. About Brady
